Cedarwood essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from wood shavings of the Juniperus Virginiana tree of the Cupressaceae family. The tree is native to North America and can grow up to 30 meters tall and live for hundreds of years!
Native Americans used cedar oil in medicinal processes and burned it for purification. Today, the wood is often used to make pencils and boxes.
In addition to being used in aromatherapy, Virginia Cedarwood essential oil is also widely used by the perfumery industry in fragrance formulations for soaps, shampoos, aftershaves, men's perfumes, deodorants, air fresheners and household cleaning and maintenance products.
Oil characteristics: It has a soft, woody aroma (reminiscent of the smell of freshly sharpened pencils) with a slight hint of sandalwood. It ranges from colorless to brownish yellow in color and is viscous. Aromatic note: Base
Cedarwood oil benefits the skin thanks to its sedative properties which, among other things, help to relieve itching. Its astringent action is excellent for combating acne and oily skin, as well as dandruff on the scalp. It helps with urinary infections, acts as a general tonic and has a significant effect on the mucous membranes.
It has a calming and relaxing effect on the mind and is of great help in conditions associated with anxiety and nervous tension. It is also useful in cases of arthritis and rheumatism.
