The unit of measurement for acidity is pH. Body tissues and fluids all have a different pH. pH values can vary slightly, so a minimum and maximum value are typically given (for blood, for example, 7.38 and 7.42). The current diet is often unbalanced, with a high proportion of acidifying foods, such as red meat, dairy, and salty and processed foods, to the detriment of alkalizing foods, especially fruits and vegetables. The body then resorts to its mineral reserves to neutralize them: we are talking about an acidic environment. The pH of the tissues in question then exceeds the maximum threshold.
